Slides

Slides provide an exhilarating experience, and are often the excitement that encourages children to climb. The variety of slides we offer gives appropriate sliding options for all ages. All our slides are high quality double wall construction.

GFP slides are rotationally molded polyethylene with UV stabilizing additives. Please note that plastic slides can create electrostatic charges sufficient to undermine the use of cochlear implants among hearing impaired children. Generally slides do not provide a particular exercise benefit, but are included for the sheer fun of sliding through space. However, they do help children develop balance (particularly dynamic balance as children are required to maintain balance as they move under the force of gravity). All GFP slides have a minimum of 4” side walls and the required level exit region. Extra long exit regions are available on tube slides (may assist mobility-impaired children as they transition off the slide.)

The Chute Slide is a double wall plastic slide with a flat bed.

The Wide Slide is a double-wall plastic double wide (no divider) slide with flat bed. Extra width allows side-by-side sliding.

The Curved Chute Slide is a plastic flat bed slide that turns 90 degrees as the child descends.

The Trough Slide is a plastic half tube slide that centers the rider as the child descends.

The Dual Chute Slide (Triple Rail Slide) is a side by side plastic double flat bed slide that promotes parallel play by allowing side-by-side sliding.

The Wave Slide is an undulating slide bedway that can be used to ascend from decks at 48” to 72”.

The Tube slide is a full tunnel plastic slide that promotes dynamic balance while the child experiences spatial orientation and a sense of enclosure. Not recommended for toddlers or for situations requiring full visibility.

The Spiral Slide is an open plastic slide that spirals 270-360 degrees as the rider descends. Deep bed and spiral design means that young children can lay in the bedway without being seen. May require extra supervision when used by preschoolers. Older preschoolers and school agers.

The Curved Tube Slide is a full plastic tube that curves as the rider descends. Long versions may not allow the child at the top of the slide to see children perching along the route. School-age only. Not recommended for situations requiring full visibility

The Alpine Thunder Slide consists of 3 side-by-side bedways, each having a different texture along the bedway. May be used from decks at 70-76” above surface. School age only.

The Bannister Slide consists of two galvanized, powder coated poles which descend from 24” above an elevated platform to the ground, following an approximate 30 degree angle. Children straddle the poles as they slide down. This activity is a cross between a sliding pole, slide, parallel bars, and upper body (hanging) challenge. This cross-use promotes a wide variety of use, from gymnastic-type upper body activity to sliding down one pole, to sliding down two poles. School age only.
