Outdoor Classroom
In one sense, the whole playground can and should be a “classroom”. In another sense, it is correct to create special areas in the play environment that allow for planned curriculum activities. Curriculum supports for a workable outdoor classroom include art easels, drying racks, art supply cabinets, polytone top (smooth) picnic tables, chalkboard panels, woodworking bench, elevated sandboxes, our Growing Box, magnetic panels, outdoor curriculum cabinets. Shade structures, Story Houses and Gazebos can frame the space for these activities.
