Planning Process

Interview

Your intimate knowledge (of your facility, staff, local regulations, growth needs, budget, and especially your children) is invaluable to the planning phase. We start by interviewing you to glean your knowledge and vision for the children, the facility and the outdoor environment.

Site Review

We assess the physical characteristics of your playground based on a site visit or on information supplied by you. Measurements of the grounds should include perimeters, interior fencing, trees, utilities (where known), changes in elevation and other structural elements.  These details are very important in the playground design and planning process.

Computer Aided Design (CAD)

We create a scaled site plan for every Grounds For Play installation proposal. On this plan, we’ll give you a wealth of construction details, surfacing suggestions and educational playground design decisions.

CPSI Review for Safety and ADA Compliance

Grounds For Play plans are reviewed by a Certified Playground Safety Inspector-level expert before pricing proposals are sent.  You can rest assured our playground design process incorporates safety above all else.

Pricing Proposal

Itemized costs are provided for a detailed scope of work. If we aren’t the right company for some portion of the work, we’ll let you know.

Project Agreement and Scope of Work

Along with your proposal will come our Project Agreement to help clarify who does what in any Grounds For Play-installed or supervised project. Clients will be notified by this form of their responsibilities. Customer-installed projects can use a simpler sales form.

Site Preparation, Manufacturing, Shipping and Receiving

After a purchase you will be assigned a project manager, who will communicate tentative schedules* for shipping and installation (if by Grounds For Play). You’ll receive a packet to help you prepare for the installation. You’ll also be contacted as the installation date approaches.

Contact Grounds For Play today to receive a free catalog or playground design consultation!

*Dates are affected by many factors. We’ll keep you posted should tentative dates change.
