Grounds For Play is committed to the inclusion of maintainable natural elements in educational play environments. Our commitment stems from a growing concern that children are shut off from the world of nature due to our increasing urbanization and focus on “class time.” Plants and natural settings add life to sterile playgrounds and expose children to natural science principles. Good playgrounds find a balance between built (man-made) and natural features.

Gardening requires water, and water can be messy. Grounds For Play’s designs help manage the mess with functional surfacing options.

Support structures for gardening should be placed to take advantage of morning sun, while receiving protection from scorching afternoon sun. Children can grow the toppings for their favorite pizza in our “pizza” gardens.

Let your future scientists, nature enthusiasts or just curious kiddos experiment and learn with this outdoor table and magnifying glass made just for them. The rust and rot resistant construction allows for all outdoor conditions and drainage holes allow for water to drain. The tile top and untreated wood naturally resists rot, decay, insects and mold without the use of toxic chemicals. It also is resistant to splintering.
