Early Childhood Playground Equipment

Grounds For Play creates equipment
and environments tailored to the
age groupings you serve.

While our competitors are content to sell early childhood playground equipment for children 2 to 12 years of age, Grounds For Play holds steadfast to what every caregiver knows: You simply can’t expect 2-year-olds to play safely on climbers for 6-year- olds, much less on climbers for 12-year-olds! We believe the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission agrees:

“For playgrounds intended to serve children of all ages, the layout of pathways and the landscaping of the playground should show the distinct areas for the different age groups. The areas should be separated at least by a buffer zone, which could be an area with shrubs or benches. This separation and buffer zone will reduce the chance of injury from older, more active children running through areas filled with younger children with generally slower movement and reaction times.” - Section 2.2.2 Age Separation, CPSC   Public Playground Safety Handbook

Given this clear statement, how can other manufacturers provide early childhood playground equipment for 2 to 12-year-olds, yet also claim to meet all CPSC guidelines? We understand (just as you do) that no one would put a 3-year-old on a bike designed for a 12-year-old, nor would a 12-year-old want to ride a 3-year-old’s tricycle … so why create a similar situation with playground equipment?

The early childhood playground equipment at Grounds For Play is going to be designed with the proper age ground in mind.  We know what types of playground equipment are suitable for which age groups, and we can develop your playground appropriately.  Different early childhood age groups have different cognitive abilities they need to be focusing on, we can provide you with playground equipment that takes this into consideration.
